Our client, a well-established and highly successful financial planning firm, are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Manager to join the team. Due to the firm’s strong roots within holistic financial planning, it is imperative that they find an individual who possesses strong industry experience as-well as excellent industry knowledge and skills; Moreover, the firm are eager to find an individual who shares their client-centred views as-well as someone who has strong honesty, integrity, creativity, and an excellent work ethic. As the successful individual, you will be required to support a regulated team of financial advisers as-well as manage the wider day-to-day office affairs.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a team of circa 15/20 qualified, regulated financial advisers who are responsible for providing financial advice across a wide geographical area; It will be crucial that you can effectively and efficiently monitor all adviser-based activities and dealings.
Where appropriate, you will work closely with the administration and paraplanning departments to ensure that all client requirements are dealt with promptly and smoothly.
You will be expected to develop and maintain a good working relationship with all departments (both advice and back office based) to ensure the smooth running of the office and the attainment of all team goals/objectives.
You will develop objectives, business plans and targets for the individual members of the team to deliver results as agreed with the regional manager.
You will be responsible for developing, coaching and motivating the advisers while ensuring that performance targets and company standards within the FCA regulatory framework are achieved; As part of this process, you will undertake regular individual and team performance assessments throughout the year.
Along with the regional development manager, you will monitor each adviser’s CPD and provide effective delivery of the firm’s training and competency scheme as-well as each adviser’s personal development plan/analysis.
You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding your own ongoing professional development.
You will work closely with the regional manager to formulate plans and develop various business objectives and goals.
You will assist with recruiting and retaining both new and existing financial advisers.
About You
You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role; Proven success as a business leader with commercial and organisational awareness is desired.
You will hold the Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent). Working towards Level 6 / Chartered Status is desired but not essential.
You must have excellent knowledge on all areas of wealth management (including investments, pensions, protection, retirement options, and tax planning) as-well as possess practical experience of the advisory process within financial planning.
You will exhibit excellent leadership, coaching and management skills with a strong ability to work individually as-well as part of a team.
You will have strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
You will possess excellent communication skills and you will be able to convey complex information to a wide variety of people with various levels of understanding both written and verbally.
You must have a strong financial services background, ideally within the wealth management sector; Leadership experience within the banking sector will also be considered.
