Clever is proud to be based in the beautiful market town of Chipping Sodbury, which lies in the foothills of the Cotswolds. The town, first founded in the 12th century, boasts a wide and bustling high street which has many interesting and independent retail outlets, public houses and restaurants. Within the town, resides numerous financial establishments, a Post Office and a large town hall. Furthermore, with testament to its name, the town still holds regular farmers markets (Chipping, a place that has a market). The town has a Waitrose supermarket and its neighboring town, Yate, has a large shopping complex which includes a range of shops of all shapes and sizes, a multi screen cinema and a large Leisure Centre.
Moreover, Sodbury also owns a junior and secondary school, as well as a range of sports clubs that are situated around the Ridings. The ridings, is a complex that hosts the Chipping Sodbury Tennis, Golf, Cricket, Football and Rugby clubs. It also stages regular community runs and is a base for the athletics club the Hogweed Trotters.
The High Street hosts a number of annual events, such as The Mop Fair, Victorian Night and food festival. The Town Hall (from circa 1550s!) hosts numerous entertainment productions and musicals. In September of last year, Bradley Wiggins raced through the street as part of the Tour of Britian!
Chipping Sodbury is under the authority of South Gloucestershire, which as an area, continues to grow its residential population. Commercially, South Gloucestershire plays an important part of the South West’s economic strategy and it continues to attract investment. Thanks, in large to its excellent transport links to motorways and railways, many global organisations from the defense, aerospace and manufacturing fields are based in the area.
At a recent South Gloucestershire breakfast forum, held at the Bristol & Bath Business Park, business owners and senior councilors got together to discuss innovation in the area and the benefits of collaboration. South Gloucestershire is an area where all businesses are passionate about facilitating business growth. This is evidenced by Matthew Riddle who is responsible for economic development. During the forum, Matthew discussed the importance of such events to bring business owners from the community together to discuss driving economic growth in the area, strengthen connections and share important information.
I am delighted to have the CleverHR main office within the town of Chipping Sodbury. The office is located 2 mins from the high street within a vibrant business park that includes successful nationwide companies. With close access to the M4 and M5, as-well as a local train station, the CleverHR team can access countrywide locations with relative ease.
At Clever we want to build a business that presents opportunity for the people of South Gloucestershire whilst at the same time, further developing links to support local charities and sports clubs. Currently we sponsor Yate Town FC and Chipping Sodbury Cricket with a view to assisting more local clubs in the future.
Like many businesses in the south west, CleverHR is excited for what is to come in the near and distant future.
